Getting Started
HasText is a secure text sharing platform that allows you to share text content using unique 1-9 character codes. You paste your text, get a code, share the code with others, and they can retrieve the text using that code. We support auto syntax highlighting for code snippets!
Yes, HasText is 100% free to use. There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or usage limits for individual users. You can share unlimited texts up to 100,000 characters each.
No, HasText doesn't require any account creation or login. You can start sharing text immediately without any registration. Your paste history is saved locally in your browser.
Sharing & Codes
Sharing codes are valid for 1-30 days, depending on the expiration period you set when creating the text. You can also choose Permanent pastes that never expire 🔥 Permanent. After expiration, the text is automatically deleted and the code becomes invalid.
HasText generates codes between 1 and 9 characters long, using uppercase letters and numbers. The code length varies based on the number of texts shared on our platform.
You can share up to 100,000 characters per text. This is sufficient for most sharing needs, including long documents and code files.
Yes! You can add an optional title (up to 200 characters) to organize your pastes. Titles appear in the paste history and when retrieving text.
Once a text is shared, it cannot be edited. However, texts are automatically deleted after their expiration period (or never for permanent pastes). If you need to make changes, you can create a new text with a new code.
With millions of possible code combinations (A-Z, 0-9, 1-9 characters), it's extremely unlikely someone will guess your code randomly. For sensitive information, we strongly recommend using the password protection feature.
Security & Privacy
Your text is encrypted in our database and can only be accessed with the correct sharing code. For additional security, you can enable password protection which adds an extra layer of encryption. We use industry-standard bcrypt for password hashing.
No, unless you choose the permanent option. Regular texts are automatically and permanently deleted after their expiration period (1-30 days). Permanent pastes stay forever unless manually removed. We don't keep backups or archives of expired content.
While we technically have access to the database, we respect user privacy and don't monitor or read shared content. Our system is designed for automatic processing without human review. We only access data when required by law or to resolve technical issues.
If you forget the password for a password-protected text, there is no way to recover the content. The encryption is designed so that only someone with the correct password can access the text. We cannot reset or recover passwords.

Yes! HasText saves your paste history locally in your browser. You can view, copy codes, and quickly retrieve past pastes. History is stored for 30 days (or permanently for permanent pastes) and you can clear it at any time.
Technical Issues
This usually means the code has expired, was entered incorrectly, or never existed. Check that you've entered the correct code (1-9 characters, uppercase letters and numbers) and that it hasn't expired. For permanent pastes, check if the code was deleted.
